Solutions to Tyranny
Solutions to Tyranny
"The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite." - Thomas Jefferson
Tyranny affects us all on many levels. We are not powerless and there are things we can do about it today. First and foremost we should educate ourselves further on what liberty is so that we understand what has been taken away from us. Second we must become aware of the infringements on our rights and help other to become aware as well. With a new perspective of the world around us, we should make changes to our daily lives and pursue action to restore liberty. There are three general levels that we can work to reduce tyranny:
On a personal level, we can vote with our money. Support local family owned businesses rather than large corporations. Use alternative currencies or barter with people in your community. If possible, disconnect from utilities and services.
At the community and state levels, we must demand from representatives and agencies that our rights are protected, the constitution is upheld, and state sovereignty is defended. Supporting measures that nullify unconstitutional laws, prohibiting federal funding, and cutting off support to federal agencies are ways that state and local governments can stop tranny in its tracks.
Nationally, we can push back unconstitutional overreach by exposing criminal acts and corruption. This is the purpose of the freedom of the press. We should also identify and support representatives who are truly working to restore liberty, although there are only a few to be found worthy.
We have the most power on a personal level. We can make changes today that affect our lives. Fighting back at the state and local levels are where we have the best chance at reducing federal tyranny. We are virtually powerless at the national level, however, the principles of liberty prevails over the lies of tyranny. Educating oneself and spreading this knowledge is the greatest power we have.
"Greater than the force of mighty armies is the power of an idea whose time has come" - Victor Hugo
